Dear Readers,
Our class is doing Throwback January! Throwback January is when we learn about how things were in the past and compare them to how things are now. First we asked adults what things were like in their lives when they were kids. We got to make a display to teach the school everything we learned. This week we focused on Entertainment. We got to play Atari, which is one of the first video game systems. We noticed that the pictures were very different because they were made out of squares. Pictures now are more detailed and have lots of color.
People used to listen to music on record players. Then they listened to walkmans, using cassette tapes. Now we listen to music on ipods.
Kids used to play outside all day long. When they had to play inside, they played games like Jacks, Pickup Sticks, Paper Dolls and Clay Marbles.
Next week we will teach you about how communication has changed from the past!
Questions:
1. What is one thing from the past that you would like to play with now?
2. For Adults, what is something else you remember playing with as a kid?
Sincerely,
Ms. Young's Class
