Our class went to iSpace for our field trip on Tuesday, March 24, 2015. iSpace is a program that has people who teach kids all about Science, Technology and Engineering through experiments. For one of our experiments, we built an alligator out of legos using a Lego program called We-Do. We controlled the alligator with a computer. We could make it make noises and snap its jaws. The way we made it interact was by creating a sequence of steps to follow on the computer. It also had a motion sensor, so when you put something in its mouth, it would close!
We also built lego cars and rolled them down ramps. We made hypotheses about how far the car would go. We also changed the size of the wheels and made the car heavier with weight. Our final test was to see if we could change the car to go exactly a certain length.
Sincerely,
Ms. Young's Class
Questions:
1.Have you ever been to iSpace? If yes, what experiments have you done?
2. What's your favorite thing you've made with legos?
3. Have you ever programmed a lego circuit before, and if so, what did you make and what did it do?
