Every week, we work in math stations. Math stations are activities that we do that involve different math skills for practice. One of the stations is SumDog. In SumDog we play math games that practice the skills we are learning. Some games we can play are Fun Run, Junk Pile, Kiteboarding, Dance 3D, Street Dash 3D, and Bubble Gum. We can also join contests against other classes in the United States! We actually started a National Contest today, and so far we are in 13th place out of 1,000+ schools!
Another station we do is called Fun 4 The Brain. In Fun 4 The Brain, we practice our addition and subtraction math facts from 0-9 with timed quizzes.
The next station is called Try-a-Tile. For this activity, you get a sheet with unfinished subtraction problems on it and tiles with the numbers 0-9. Your job is to put the tiles into the subtraction problems so all the problems are true. They are fun because it's like a puzzle.
The last station we do is called Math Game. It is a game that we play from the EnVisions lessons we are learning. EnVisions is the math program we use.
Stations are fun because we get to work in small groups and have fun while still doing math.
Sincerely,
Noah and Mrs. Holliday's Class
