We all read different books. Then we started writing down things that happened in the book on a piece of paper. Then we put three good things that happened in the book and three bad things that happened. We needed 3 good things and 2 bad things to include on the board game. Then we had to do a little practice game on a rough draft. We wrote on spaces whether you had to move forward or go back spaces. On our final copy, we colored them, glued them in file folders and wrote letters. Then we laminated them and got to play them. We donated them to Inner City Youth Opportunities, where children go after school for tutoring and other programs. It was fun because we got to help other people.

This week we are reading a book called Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. We read chapters one through seven. In the book so far, there are 5 golden tickets and so far there were two tickets found. If you find one, you will get a life time of chocolate and Charlie really wants to get it.
In class we did something called Turkey Trot. It's like Bingo except you say Turkey Trot when you win. We got a paper from our teacher. It had a lot of blends on it. We had to write all the blends down on our turkey trot board. When we were done, we put stones on our free space. Ms. Young called out words that started with blends. If you got five stones in a row, you won the game.
Questions: Can you think of a word that starts with the blend "st" ? Would you like to play Turkey Trot? Gooney Bird Greene is a character in a book. We read Gooney Bird Greene in Read Aloud. Gooney Bird Greene tells lots of stories for her class. Gooney Bird Greene says she tells absolutely true stories. Her class is sad when she runs out of stories. For example, one story is about when Gooney Bird comes to Water Tower on a flying carpet! If you want to find out what is the end of the story, you should find the book.
By Sophia This week we finished a book called Gooney Bird Greene. I liked the book because she tells absolutely true stories. What I found funny was she told a story called Catman was Consumed by a Cow. Everybody in Gonney Bird's class thought that consumed meant eaten by a cow. My class did too at first. But we figured it out soon. If you want to see the ending, you should read the book. Sincerely, Talon Questions: Have you told stories to kids? On Wednesday, November 13, 2013 we did backchanneling. We typed about Sassy. We typed what we heard from the story. The story was called Dancing in the Wings. We wrote things about Sassy in backchanneling. You can see other people's comments on the computer.
In Science we made fossils. We had a piece of paper, clay, glue and a shell to make models of a fossil. We pushed the clay on the paper. Then we pushed a shell on the clay and it made a print of a shell. We poured glue in the print of the shell. It took 2 or 3 days to dry. Then Ms. Young pulled out the glue. It had to be dry. There was a print on the glue. On the bottom of the glue there was clay. On the clay there was a print on the bottom of the clay.
