What are some fun family traditions your family does? (It does not have to be related to a holiday!)
We made quilts in our classroom to share what is special and important about our families! We included favorite family traditions, memories with relatives, meals, and how we are unique. We had a lot of fun making these quilts, but it was even more fun to have conversations sharing about each of our squares as we made them! We love our families!

We've been studying our past presidents over the last few weeks. We each picked a president, researched each by reading biographies and websites, and wrote paragraphs telling a little about how each president affected our lives today. We observed how change over time happened through photographs and daily life routines. Many presidents were in office before photographs existed, so their pictures are actually paintings. Other presidents have photographs, but they are only in black and white. One of our presidents received a speeding ticket for riding his horse too fast! We also looked at how science and technology have changed daily life, such as photographs, ways presidents communicated with others, and so on. We took the information we learned and sequenced our presidents, joining forces with Mrs. Lance's class to create a gigantic timeline in our hallway! Here are a few pictures to show our hard work! What are some other ways you can think of that show how change has happened over time in our daily lives? Give an example of how science and technology changed our daily lives. |
