This was the busiest week we have had this year, jam-packed with activities and events! We started off the week with an assembly about Indian dance and culture, and we even got to participate in some dances! One highlight was when Ms. Young was dressed in a sari. On Tuesday, we watched the Third Grade music concert, and they did a great job! On Wednesday we had the Author visit from Dr. Paul Michael Mullen. Finally, on Friday, we had our Cultural Heritage Parade!! Thank you to all who came out to see our awesome floats!! Here are some pictures from the week!
Last week we started talking about our own cultural heritages. We interviewed our families to find out where our ancestors came from. We plotted all the places our ancestors came from on a Google map, that you can see below. Please note, the points do not mark specific places our ancestors are from, just the countries in general! Also, in some cases, we knew the continent (like Africa) but not the country, so the marks are just for the continent. Scroll around to look all over the world to see our Cultural Heritage!
