We have been studying Fairy Tales in Reading Workshop. We have learned that many fairy tales start with "Once upon a time..." and they often end with "They lived happily ever after." Instead of reading classic fairy tales since we know them all already, we decided to study different versions of the same story. We studied different versions of The Three Little Pigs and Stone Soup. Then we read plays of mixed up fairy tales. We read "Goldilocks and the Three Bullfrogs," "Spiderella," "Slurping Beauty," The Emperor's New Hair," "The Cheetah and the Sloth," "Little Late Riding Hood," and "The Three Little Elephants." We invited the Kindergartners to our class to see our performance of three of the plays. They were funny and the kindergartners enjoyed them. We had a lot of fun acting and becoming new roles.
Sincerely,
Ms. Young's Class
