We are learning about maps in Social Studies. We are learning about how to get around places when you don't know where you are. To do this, you have to read a map. A map has a map key that tells us what all the symbols are on the map. A compass rose helps you know what direction you are going. Labels can help you know what different places are. Titles help you know what the map is for. Maps really do come in handy!
We are making a map of our classroom! We broke up into groups, and we all have different jobs. We made a plan of what we are going to do. We made a map key with symbols of what is important in the classroom. We were given a paper to do a sketch of our map. Next week, we will get posterboard and construction paper to start making our maps!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Holliday's Class
