Our class was learning how air works in many different ways. First, we learned that air can push things and stop things--air can make things move. This means air is a force. We also learned that air resistance is what slows things down. Finally, we learned that when air is compressed, it wants to go back to normal and pushes out. We discovered this by hooking two syringes together with a tube and "air wrestling."
We ended our unit by bringing in toys from home that use air in some way to work. Here is a slideshow of the toys we brought. We had fun with this science unit!
Questions:
1. What is one thing you know about air?
2. What are some other air experiments that we could try?
3. What is another toy that uses air to work besides what you see in our pictures?
Sincerely,
Mrs. Holliday's Class
