Dear Readers,
At the end of last month we stared an ABC Countdown to Summer. Each day is celebrated with a special letter from A to Z.
Our first day we celebrated Addition Day where we only did addition all day. On Bubble Day we were handed giant bubbles to take outside to blow on the blacktop. We made a video with the other second grade class to send to our teacher. We had Crazy Sock Day for C day. Almost everyone wore crazy or mismatched socks. We had a lot of fun on Dance Day. Our substitute teacher played Kidz Bop on GoNoodle and we danced to some of our favorite songs. On Exercise Day we watched and followed along to different exercises on GoNoodle. For Favorite Book Day we brought in our favorite favorite books from home. During class we were able to share our books with our friends. Game Day was a fun day too! We learned some new games like Four Corners and Down by the Banks. We also played some games we already knew like tic-tac-toe, rock, paper, scissors, and hangman. Hat day was unusual since we could wear our hats inside all day long! On Interest Day we shared with the whole class what we were interested in or something we wanted to try. We had lots of different interests like soccer, horse back riding, gymnastics, skateboarding, and collecting minerals. We were laughing all day long on Joke Day. One of our favorite jokes was, "What is the best compliment you can give a raspberry comedian?" ..."You are BERRY funny." We celebrated Kindness Day by keeping an eye out for acts of kindness done by our classmates that we could record on a piece of paper. At the end of the day we read them out loud to the class. Everyone got suckers on Lollipop Day. Mothers Day Projects were a lot of hard work!
The best part of our ABC Count Down is we still have half of the alphabet left! We have more days and letters to celebrate before the end of the year.
Sincerely
Mrs. Holliday's Class
