This week our school hosted a tea party at a local restaurant. The third graders grew and made the tea. The fourth graders were the servers. We (the second graders) were hosts and tea party etiquette teachers. We had to research tea parties around the world to find out traditions and etiquette. The first graders wrote invitations to our families to invite them to the tea party. Some fourth graders made the menus as well! The reason we hosted this tea party was to raise money for our sister school in Sierra Leone. We have been partners with this school for years, raising money to help them buy computers, supplies and pay for their school bills. Now they are trying to build a new school and orphanage. Here is a link to the latest video they sent us as they are working on building a new roof. We have worked through several fundraisers in the past two years to help raise enough money to do it. Our tea party was a great success! Everyone had fun, and the food and tea was delicious!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Holliday's Class
