Last Saturday, September 6th, there was a Harvest Festival in our community. A harvest festival is when we harvested crops that we grew and ate them at the festival. All three primary schools worked together. Some of the crops we grew were lettuce, onions, tomatoes, basil and peppers. We made pesto out of the basil and served it on pasta. We roasted the vegetables and made salads with the lettuce. We made baskets to raffle off. We baked desserts to serve. We are donating all the money we raised to Sierra Leone to build a school for children there. We raised $8, 500 which is enough to build the school! The food was delicious and we were so happy that we raised enough money to build the school.
Sincerely,
Ms. Young's Class
