We had this project where we researched inventors from the past. We read their biographies to learn about them. We also looked on our computers at websites to learn about them too. We picked partners and researched more about the inventor and one of their inventions. We had to find out what their invention was, when they made their invention, why they made the invention, and whether it has it changed over time. After we finished our research, we wrote paragraphs about our inventors. Then we typed our paragraphs using Office 365 on the computer. We put pictures of the inventor and the invention on our papers and printed them out. Then we made our timeline! We started it at 1400 because one of our inventions was made in 1438! Our latest invention was in 1989! The inventors we researched were Thomas Edison, the Wright Brothers, Anton Van Leeuwenhoek, George Eastman, Johannes Gutenberg, Lonnie Johnson, Bob and Joe Switzer, Philo Farnsworth, Albert Einstein, and Joseph Lee. We enjoyed this activity!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Holliday's Class
Questions:
1. What inventors do you know, and what did they invent?
2. Which invention do you think is most important and why? Any invention could be an answer, not just ones by our inventors!
